Nokia N1 Tablet Sells Out In China Yet Again, When Will It Be Available Elsewhere?

Nokia's first ever Android tablet is still going strong in its initial target market in China as it continues to sell out batch after batch devices.

According to GSM Arena, the Nokia N1 Tablet has sold out two batches of devices since January 15. Before that, the company reportedly sold over 20,000 units in just one batch earlier this month.

Despite the failing mobile division of Nokia within Microsoft, the Fins are still trying to remind the mobile world of their relevance, especially their brilliance in hardware.

As showcased earlier this year, the Nokia N1 Tablet boasts a 7.9-inch IPS display with a 1536 x 2048 resolution, which results in a 324ppi (pixels per inch). Interestingly, that resolution and ppi are similar to that of Apple's famed Retina display.

Other specs of the N1 slate include an Intel Atom Z3580 chipset, 2GB of RAM and a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz. It is also powered by a PowerVRG6430 GPU, which is known to handle high performance in terms of graphical functions.

The Nokia N1 tablet packs an 8 megapixel primary camera and 5MP front snapper. The device has a 32GB built-in storage, but does not come with a microSD card slot.

The Nokia slate is powered by a huge 5,300mAh battery and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, making it one of the first devices coming with the latest Android version.

In the report, the next batch of Nokia N1 Tablet sales will be on February 26, though it is still unclear how many units Nokia will release for the batch.

Last year, Nokia finally parted ways with its mobile department as the latter became part of Microsoft. The two manufacturers worked together for a couple of months, releasing some decent handsets such as the Lumia 730 and Lumia 830.

However, it was reported later that year that Microsoft will soon replace the Nokia branding in upcoming Lumia phones.

With the success Nokia is experiencing in China, consumers should expect the device to be released in nearby Asian countries.
