'Pitch Perfect 2' Trailer Debuts at Super Bowl 2015

The newest trailer for "Pitch Perfect 2' made its debut before Katy Perry took to the stage for her halftime performance at Super Bowl XLIX in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday night.

In the footage, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and other members of the Barden Bellas were shown facing other a capella groups, including the "Green Bay Packers' consisting of all male members, in competition to be crowned as the American winner.

The upcoming sequel to the musical comedy is centered on sending the group of singers to another huge sing-off.

Aside from Kendrick and Wilson reprising their roles as Beca Mitchell and Fat Amy, respectively, other stars in the movie include Skylar Astin as Jesse Swanson, Anna Camp as Aubrey Posen and Brittany Snow as Chloe Beale. Hailee Steinfeld also joined the group as newbie Emily.

Elizabeth Banks, who also starred in the movie as acapella official Gail Abernathy-McKadden, will now perform directorial duties for the film.

"It is bigger," Banks told Entertainment Weekly, referring to what viewers can expect in the sequel. "It's more global, certainly. Because of that, the performance numbers aren't in, like, teeny auditoriums this time around."

The video footage begins with Fat Amy saying, "Guys, there's gonna be some haters out there." When the Bellas took the stage, she further stated: "They're gonna look at us, Team USA, and be like, 'Why is the most talented one Australian?'"

Actor David Cross can be seen next as he amusingly appears with a plush blue robe despite the competition being a more casual event.

The sing-off began when an a capella singer impressively imitated the sound of a drum roll. Beca then rendered a cover of "Before He Cheats' by Carrie Underwood. She was followed by the rest of the Bellas who sang the chorus of the popular country track.

After the sultry performance, Cross welcomes the next team for the competition, "The Green Bay Packers'

Surprised as the rest, Beca yells 'What!?' as the football team members appear, including Don Barclay, T.J. Lang, David Bakhtiari, Josh Sitton and Clay Matthews, who donned black suits and sang the 2001 hit "Bootylicious' by Destiny's Child.

The "Pitch Perfect 2' trailer was played about forty seconds midway through the showdown between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

"Pitch Perfect 2' has been set for an official release in U.S. theaters on May 15.
