Ellie Goulding Reigns UK Charts with 2015’s Fastest-Selling Single

Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do' has been deemed as the fastest-selling single of 2015.

With the song being featured on the official soundtrack for the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy, "Love Me Like You Do' has triumphed over "Uptown Funk' by Mark Ronson which has reigned the singles charts for seven weeks.

Goulding's track has sold over 172,000 copies, roughly 87,000 more than Ronson's collaboration with Bruno Mars.

Other chart-toppers include Bob Dylan who has reached the number one spot on the albums chart for the eighth time last Sunday as "Shadows in the Night', his 36th studio album, soared to the top spot.

Meanwhile, "Love Me Like You Do' is the 28-year-old singer's second number one hit on the charts, following the success of "Burn' in 2013. When it comes to online music streaming, the catchy track has been streamed for more than 1.46 million times. However, "Uptown Funk' proved to be a stronger contender with 2.10 million streams.

The official "Fifty Shades of Grey' album combines a wide range of genres, including songs from Beyonce ("Crazy In Love' remix), Frank Sinatra ("Witchcraft'), Annie Lennox ("I Put A Spell On You') and The Rolling Stones ("Beast of Burden').

"Fifty Shades of Grey' is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and follows the story of young business tycoon Christian Grey, portrayed by Jamie Dornan, and Washington State University student Anastasia Steele, played by Dakota Johnson.

Produced by Universal Pictures and Focus Features, "Fifty Shades of Grey' has been set to hit theaters on February 13 in time for Valentine's Day weekend.

While fans look forward to its nearing release, Taylor-Johnson has announced her plans for future sequels.

"I'm signed on," she said to E! News with regards to planning for upcoming sequels. "Let's see how this one goes first."

Dornan opened up to Access Hollywood that while he is willing to reprise his role in future movies.

"I want a career that isn't trying to get [James] to write eight more books for me so I can keep working," the 32-year-old Irish actor said. "But it's nice that people think that we're right for it and that's only a good thing. If [a sequel] is happening, yeah."

In playing her part once again, 25-year-old Johnson said that she remains grateful for having the opportunity to star in more sequels, expressing her happiness to reprise her role.
