OnePlus One Release Date: Android Flagship 'Killer' Hitting 16 EU Markets, When Will OP Two Be Unveiled?

OnePlus One was launched almost a year ago, and yet in spite the loud praises it received from consumers during that time, it only managed to sell about a million units the past year.

However, it looks like the startup company is finally going to release the device in more markets.

According to a report by Phone Arena, the Android flagship 'killer' handset will hit 16 markets EU this coming months. The high-end device will be available in Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia beginning this month.

In the report, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei will be holding an event in Warsaw, Poland on March 9. Afterwards, the OnePlus team will be heading to Prague in Czech Republic, and later in Budapest, Hungary on March 12.

Unfortunately, in spite the big news for OnePlus One fans, it may already be too late for the device. Last year, the OnePlus One was truly an interesting handset due to its cheap pricing, and impressive specs. But with the recent announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Edge, the HTC One M9 and some other affordable handsets, people might also look forward to these devices.

Some of the OnePlus One's features include a 5.-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution 2GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 810 chipset, and either a 16GB or 64GB internal storage.

The camera department has a 13MP and 2MP camera combination, and Android 4.4 Kit Kat out of the box, skinned by CyanogenMod UI.

Sadly for the startup phone maker, its invite system failed miserably - scaring away fans and potential buyers instead of luring them to the smartphone. By the end of 2014, the company only sold less than a million units.

For those who are interested in OnePlus but are willing to wait until the newer generation handset gets announced, the OnePlus Two is rumored to be announced during Q3 or Q4 of this year.
