LG G4 Specs, Rumors: New Flagship Tipped To Finally Get Fingerprint Scanner

Last year, LG launched its flagship in June, and this time around it looks like the Korean manufacturer will be following its usual schedule.

To make things even more interesting, the upcoming LG G4 is rumored to come with a fingerprint scanner - the first in an LG smartphone.

According to a report by Phone Arena, the upcoming LG flagship is rumored to get a fingerprint scanner. For tech enthusiasts who are always updated with the latest rumors, trends and announcements, the rumor is slightly outdated already.

Even before the LG G3 was launched almost a year ago, there were rumors that it would boast a fingerprint scanner at the back. However, it did not happen.

However, the report said that the Korean manufacturer may be aiming to include the technology because other smartphone brands have already included sensors in their respective flagships.

According to an insider:

"LG Electronics has recently decided to deploy a fingerprint sensor on its next flagship smartphone and the scanner will be placed at the back of the device," tips the source, as the company "has been left behind in the race for fintech (portmanteau of finance and technology) as it has continued to postpone the adoption of fingerprint technology."

Last year's model was not short of security features. One of the G3's features is the Knock Code, which is definitely a revolutionary feature in the Android device. However, LG may be aiming to compete in the secured payments department where Apple Pay and Samsung's security system have already made a headstart.

The LG G4 will be the Korean company's top handset after the LG G Flex 2 that was announced earlier this year. While there are no rumored specs and features yet, Android fans better watch out for the best from LG.

Based on LG's annual schedule, the LG G4 should be unveiled in June, probably together with another smartwatch that it can pair with.
