While everyone is still busy talking about the device announcements in the past several weeks, Chinese brand Xiaomi is slowly adding more handsets to its arsenal of affordable products.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the phone maker may be developing a brand new smartphone that will be aimed at the newly-announced Android handsets.

Dubbed as the Xiaomi Ferrari, the device has reportedly been spotted in benchmarking website GFX Bench. The leak reveals most of the smartphone's specs, so interested Android fans may get a chance to see what the new Xiaomi device will offer.

In the report, the 'Ferrari' features a 4.9-inch display, but with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, and an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.6GHz. Also on board is a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 chipset and Adreno 405 to handle the graphics department.

Thew Xiaomi Ferrari will also boast a 12MP primary camera that can shoot 1080p clips. The main camera has autofocus, face-detection, flash, and touch focus. In front is a 4.8MP (or 5MP) shooter that can record 1080p videos as well.

Rounding up the specs sheet is Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box.

Based on the phone's specs, this upcoming Xiaomi handset will bring back some Android fans to the 5-inch 1080p screen realm, though there are some consumers who actually like it.

In a report by Phone Arena, the device could be a new brand lineup for the Chinese manufacturer, considering the Redmi 2, another superb midrager, was just announced a couple of months ago.

Recently, the Redmi 2 gained almost 300,000 pre-registrations from Indian retailer website Flipkart. When the Android device went on sale, 50,000 units were immmediately sold within minutes.

Meanwhile, the China-based manufacturer is not getting any sort of problems when it comes to selling its devices. In another report by Phone Arena, the company was able to sell out its units for the MiPad tablet in just an hour in India. In the report, the stocks were slated to last for weeks, but all of them were snatched by buyers as soon as the listing officially began.

While that is not as impressive as some previous 'records' by Xiaomi, it is still a remarkable feat. The MiPad is a Wi-Fi only Android tablet that costs $209.

Xiaomi continues to defy industry and business standards with its high-end devices sold at incredibly low prices. It will not be surprising to see the mobile brand with Samsung and Apple at the top of the food chain in the coming years.
