Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea are releasing a new song together on May 5. "Pretty Girls,' is the first single to appear in Spears' 2015 music album.
American singer Spears and Australian rapper Azalea announced their collaboration in Fall of 2014. In an interview with MTV news, Azalea said that they co-wrote "Pretty Girls.' Spears initially asked Azalea to be featured in her new song. Afterwards Azalea rewrote parts of the song.
"In turn, it's kind of really evolved into something that I was just featured on originally, into really a true duet, where I'm on the chorus with her. We go back and forth," she explained. "She has her verses and I have my verse, but it's not just me kind of popping in it. It really is a duet. And I love that. I love a good pop duet where it's equally powerhouse, cool."
Azalea commented that she enjoys working with Spears. The two have a budding friendship. Azalea also revealed that they are also working on a music video for "Pretty Girls.'
"She's super nice. She came to my house and had lunch and I didn't know what to expect, and we actually really get along," she said. "I've been texting her, annoying her with all my ideas for the video and she's been a really good sport about it, so I'm really excited."
Spears has won a Grammy Award, fourteen MTV Music Awards, and six Billboard Music Awards in her career. She is the mother of two boys.
Azalea's real name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly. She is currently dating Nick Young, the Los Angeles Laker's basketball player.
