'Beauty and the Beast' Cast, Plot & Release Date: Here's What We Know So Far!

So far, this is the latest cast list from the much-anticipated live-action version of "Beauty And The Beast," a Disney classic which young kids and even the parents knew too well, as reported by Inquistr.

Here are the 10 major characters in the movie we will love all over again:

1. Emma Watson as Belle

The beauty and brains actress is perfect for the role of the bookloving Belle. We will always remember Watson as the bookish "Hermione" in the Harry Potter books and movies, but this recent graduate of Brown University, as reported by Yahoo!, does not need to convince as much. She got us at being a true women's right advocate and a UN Goodwill Ambassador, as noted in Inquisitr.

2. Dan Stevens as Beast

Stevens, has acted in several period-themed projects such as "Downton Abbey" and the series "Sense and Sensibility" to make him suitable as the prince who turned as the Beast, as noted by IMDb. He also was Sir Lancelot in the 2014 movie, "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb," notes the database. Although, everyone should be intrigued how he would look be transformed into the Beast, right?

3. Luke Evans as Gaston

The 35-year-old Welsh actor played the character "Bard the Bowman" in Peter Jackson's three-part adaptation of The Hobbit, as mentioned by Just Jared. His built is just right for Gaston.

4. Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts

Emma Thompson can rock any role! Her strong character as "Ellinor" in 2012's "Brave" is very far from her role as "Professor Sybil Trelawney" in Harry Potter. Let us see how we will be charmed again this time with her as Mrs. Potts.

5. Josh Gad as Le Fou

His portrayal as the ever-loyal friend, "Olaf" in "Frozen" had us liking Josh Gad. This time, Gad's comedic talents will be tested again as Gaston's goofy assistant, notes Inquistr.

6. Ewan McGregor as Lumiere

This musical genius had got us weeping in Baz Lurhmann's "Moulin Rouge!" but we will always be mesmerized with his rendition of "Come What May," that even the animated Lumiere character would have willingly joined in.

7. Ian McKellen as Cogsworth

The two-time Oscar nominee will surely give us a Cogsworth portrayal only he can deliver. Famed for being "Magneto" and "Gandalf" ---both roles are known for showing immense strength in character. On the other hand, Gandalf has a lighter side, too, so to see him as Cogsworth is exciting.

8. Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette

Inquistr notes that the role of the feather duster Plumette, and Lumiere's love partner is to be played by the attractive Mbatha-Raw. The site informed that she was known for her role as "Dido Elizabeth Belle" in "Belle."

9. Kevin Kline as Maurice

We can imagine Kline as Belle's crude inventor father, Maurice. Well, a Best Supporting Actor Award from the Oscars, for the 1988 film "A Fish Called Wanda" should convince you.

10. Stanley Tucci as Cadenza
The singing grand piano role of Cadenza has just been given to Stanley Tucci, with his Italian descent and great acting talent, who can easily shift from comedy and drama, this Oscar-nominee will surely amaze us.
