Soccer Transfer Rumors: Radamel Falcao Moving to Chelsea After Stint With Manchester United?

Radamel Falcao and Chelsea are reportedly nearing a deal that will bring the Colombian striker to Stamford Bridge next season when they defend their Barclays Premier League title.

According to reports, terms of the deal are close to being finalized. If finalized, Falcao will play in the Premier League for two consecutive seasons after also playing for Manchester United via a one-year loan deal last season.

Once the loan deal between Chelsea and AS Monaco is completed, Falcao will also reunite with former Atletico Madrid teammates -- goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and striker Diego Costa.

Courtois, who won the 2012 Europa League title with Falcao, said he is eager to link up with the Colombia international. The top goalkeeper of Chelsea believes Falcao will be a good addition to the Blues next season.

"I don't know anything about a transfer, but of course I know Falcao very well," Courtois told reporters. "He's a very good boy, he's a good friend of mine, so if he comes, great. It's the decision of the club but he would be a very good player for Chelsea."

Falcao, who was considered as one of the greatest strikers in the world before sustaining a torn ACL last year, struggled in his loan season at Old Trafford. The 29-year-old netted just four goals in 14 Premier League appearances last season with Manchester United.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho hinted that he is also looking forward to having Falcao at Stamford Bridge. The veteran manager expressed confidence that Falcao is a much better player than what most people are thinking because of how he played at Old Trafford last season.

If given the chance, Mourinho said he is willing to help Falcao regain his old form and prove his doubters wrong.

"If I can help Falcao reach his level again, I will do it," Mourinho told DirecTV Sports. "It hurts me that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United. He played in Spain and Portugal and I know him very well because I was in Portugal and Spain."
