Celebrity couple Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards have called it quits after three long years of dating and making plans for marriage. Edwards no longer has a ring on her finger and Malik plans to remove his tattoo of her.
Malik broke it off with Edwards two weeks ago in July 2015. It has been a big month of great changes for the former One Direction member. He publicly feuded with his ex-bestie Naughty Boy, patched things up with One Direction members, signed with a new record label, and ended it with Edwards.
"Reactions are instant if emotions are constant. Let's say for instance that you had a conscience. Would you take the time then to weigh out the options," tweeted 22-year-old Malik on July 6.
Edwards and Malik began dating in 2012. Malik popped the big question in Aug. 2013. They were engaged for two years. Edwards was interviewed with Little Mix band members Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson, and Jade Thirlwall by E!News in Los Angeles, California on Monday, Aug. 3.
The blonde singer put on a brave face and did her best to keep a smile on, as the reporter asked how she is doing during this tough time. Edwards admitted that she was having a tough time, all the while flashing a bright smile. Little Mix was promoting their hit single "Black Magic."
Bandmates Pinnock and Thirlwall promptly came to Edwards' defense by saying upfront that they "don't really want to talk about it." Little Mix also shared that they were here to console her through the break up and that they would "get her nails done."
Nelson posted a photo of Edwards on Instagram relaxing poolside on Monday. In the photo, Edwards threw up a peace sign with her right hand. Her left hand, which adorned no ring was laid flat by her side. Edwards wore a bikini and a pair of psychedelic shades.
Malik has a large permanent black ink tattoo of Edwards on his upper right arm. He got it in 2013. The tattoo is a cartoon version of Edwards. The tattoo shows Edwards with her left hand on her heart and her right hand reaching out. She is sporting a beanie and wearing a shirt with a peace sign. Malik plans on covering it up.
