‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ New Teaser: It's Kylo vs. Finn Featuring Luke's Lightsaber

Star Wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens

Star Wars recently shared a new teaser trailer for the upcoming installment "Episode VII- The Force Awakens' in its official Instagram account. Fans can now have a glimpse of Finn (John Boyega) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) as they prepare to battle it out with their lightsabers.

The short clip is mostly comprised of scenes that have been made available in the international trailers, although it does highlight a part in Kylo's storyline with which he stalks through the snow and seemingly confronts Finn, who is apparently wielding Luke's lightsaber that seen being passed to Leia in the second teaser.

Such scene might be clarified in the next full-length trailer, which will reportedly be unveiled in September.

Though Kylo could be deemed as a menacing villain, he is apparently not a Sith lord.

"Kylo Ren is not a Sith," director J.J. Abrams said in an interview with Empire. "He works under Supreme Leader Snoke, who is a powerful figure on the Dark Side of the Force."

Ren, Snoke (Andy Serkis) and General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson) are all known to be members of the First Order, an army that was reborn from the previous Galactic Empire.

Looking at its history, the Stormtrooper was once said to be a galactic guardian and peacekeeper until the Emperor obtained excessive power and control.

However, after the downfall of the villain, The First Order rose to power and brought in a "new era of ruthless brutality." Subsequently, the First Order Stormtrooper has become the harsh enforcers of such rule.

As for the upcoming movie, it is likely that the First Order will follow much of its imagery from the Galactic Emperor.

In the previous international TV spot for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' the dark side was unleashed, particularly with the appearance of the First Order.

'There has been an awakening,'" a menacing voiceover growls. 'Have you felt it?'

Viewers were able to catch a glimpse of not only Finn and Kylo but of Daisy Ridley as scavenger Rey known to be a hunter on the desert planet Jakku, Oscar Isaac as X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron who was sent on a mission by "a certain princes," and the new droid BB-8.

However, Harrison Ford and Peter Mayhew as Han Solo and Chewbacca were absent in the clip.

Fans are also anticipating the appearances of Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher as the brother-sister power duo Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, although it has been rumored that it was the princess' hand which was seen giving over Luke's old lightsaber in a previous clip.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens' makes its way to theaters on Dec. 18.
