As the upcoming season of 'The Walking Dead' nears its premiere date, the hit AMC series has promoted three cast members to series regulars.

Tovah Feldshuh (Deanna Monroe), Alexandra Breckenridge (Jessie Anderson) and Austin Nichols (Spencer Monroe), who all signed on to the zombie drama series last season five with recurring roles, have now become series regulars, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Deanna is known as the leader of the Alexandria community. Based on the character Douglas from the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Feldshuh's character was an Ohio congresswoman before the zombie outbreak.

As for Jessie, she has become the love interest of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). Prior to the zombie apocalypse, she was a stylist as well as an artist. In addition, Spencer is one of Deanna's two sons. Jessie and Spencer are characters that were directly taken from the comics.

For "The Walking Dead' season six, the trio joins Lennie James (Morgan Jones), who has also become a series regular and returns to the zombie drama series after several appearances since the first season, including the pilot.

All in all, with the promotion of the characters, the roster of series regulars have totaled to 18, an unsurpassed record for the AMC zombie drama. In the previous season, the series had 17 series regulars.

However, being promoted to a series regular does not guarantee that such character will make it until the end of the season. For instance, Michael Rooker, who played Merle Dixon, became a series regular in season three but the character was eventually killed off in the penultimate episode of such season.

In the same way, Scott Wilson, who took on the role of Hershel Greene, was promoted to a series regular in "The Walking Dead' season 4 but ended up dead in the midseason finale.

Hershel's daughter Beth, played by Emily Kinney, along with Tyreese William, played by Chad Coleman, were both promoted to series regulars in the fifth season, but their characters were killed off during the same installment.

Moreover, The Spoiling Dead Fans shared a post with unconfirmed spoilers claiming that Jessie meet her demise in the upcoming midseason finale.

Below is a part of the site's Facebook post describing Jessie's death scene:
"Rick, Michonne [Danai Gurira], Father G [Seth Gilliam], Carl [Chandler Riggs], Jessie, Ron [Austin Abrams] and Sam [Major Dodson] are all trapped inside one of the houses. The herd has swarmed the streets of Alexandria"¦

Sam is grabbed by walkers and is eaten. Jessie freaks out and attempts to save Sam even though it is a lost cause. She refuses to let go of Carl's hand while doing so, and as she starts falling into walkers Rick chops off her hand/arm. Jessie dies..."

"The Walking Dead' season six is set to premiere with a special 90-minute episode on Oct. 11 on AMC.
