After working together on the indie breakout film "Brick' in 2005 as well as in "The Brother's Bloom' and "Looper,' it is expected by many that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Rian Johnson will continue their partnership with the director's upcoming involvement in "Star Wars: Episode 8.'

In an interview with Gordon-Levitt at the New York Film Festival while promoting his latest movie "The Walk,' the actor was asked whether it was possible for him to reunite with Johnson and take on a role in the eighth "Star Wars' installment.

"Of course! I knock on his door every day, and I'm like, "Am I in the movie yet? Am I in the movie yet? Dude! No, seriously dude. It's important to me! I want to be in the movie!' [Shrugs] We'll see," the 34-year-old actor responded.

According to Cinema Blend, Gordon-Levitt can pass off as either a protagonist or a villain in the upcoming film owing to his impressive acting skills that enabled him to sweep viewers off their feet, such as being the anti-hero in "Looper' and a hopeless romantic in "(500) Days of Summer.'

While there have been no preliminary talks about crossing over to the Star Wars universe, Gordon-Levitt's latest big-screen appearance is in Robert Zemeckis' "The Walk,' which has already made its premiere.

Meanwhile, Hayden Christensen, who portrayed Anakin Skywalker and then Darth Vader in "Episode II: Attack of the Clones' and "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith' in the "Star Wars' movie series, might make a comeback for a special appearance in "Star Wars: Episode 8.'

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 34 year-old actor could take on the role of Darth Vader once again in the highly anticipated installment. A source close to the production team claimed that a crew from the United Kingdom has been scheduled to travel and provide training for Christensen.

"A team in the U.K. are soon heading to the U.S. to begin training Hayden Christensen for a Star Wars: Episode VIII appearance of some sort," the insider stated.

Although it was not mentioned whether the actor will return to the film series as Darth Vader or in some other form, there has already been a fully operational helmet and chest piece for Darth Vader that are reportedly being developed.

On the other hand, there have been no reports confirming that Darth Vader will appear in "Star Wars: Episode 8' following his death in the sixth film, the "Return of the Jedi.'
As for the seventh movie, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' it is set to be released on Dec.18, 2015.
