This year, the cast and crew of "The Hunger Games" series had to bid goodbye to the franchise since "Mockingjay Part 2" was the last film in the trilogy (which they made into four movies).

Lionsgate vice chairman Michael Burns refused to say goodbye just yet though, since he said that the franchise "would live on and on and on" through prequel films.

For star Natalie Dormer, who plays the rebel Cressida in the series, extending the franchise is a brilliant idea and she would love nothing more than to be a part of it.

"I adore Suzanne Collins for her bravery and her imagination," Dormer told Entertainment Weekly. "And everything that is the success of 'The Hunger Games,' the genesis, it all comes from Suzanne. She wrote such a complex world and yet at the same time had so many scenes that deal with all the things we're struggling with with our own time and zeitgeist."

"So I'm just a huge fan of Suzanne Collins and her writing, and I think ('Hunger Games'producer) Nina Jacobson and (director) Francis Lawrence have both talked about this, but anything prequel, sequel, whatever would have to come from her and her penmanship," Dormer added. "So the minute I know that Suzanne is writing something, then yes, my ears would prick up. Almost definitely."

Her statements now echoed the ones made earlier by the director, who is also keen on a prequel film.

"The interesting part of the story for me is to go back 75 years earlier and see how everything became the way it is," he said. "I'm sure if Suzanne were to get inspired and decide there's another story that's important for her to tell that exists within the world of Panem and whether about the Dark Days, another character, or another set of Games, whatever that could be, I'm sure it would be great. And I'd love to be involved, absolutely."

However, not everybody is on board the prequel idea. Lead star Jennifer Lawrence, who plays the symbol of the rebellion Katniss Everdeen thinks it is not yet time for them to make prequel films. The actress thinks it would be a good idea for them to let the dust settle on the franchise first before jumping on board another film.

"I wouldn't be involved," she said. "I think it's too soon. They've got to let the body get cold, in my opinion."
