California Graduate School of Theology, a Christian college and seminary located in Garden Grove, recently held their forty-sixth commencement ceremonies on May 16, 2015. This year, CalGrad conferred twelve degrees in Doctor of Divinity, Doctor of Ministry, and Master of Divinity.

One unique event that was associated with the commencement was the doctorate seminars from May 11-15 on board a cruise ship. CalGrad's New York cohort consisting of the doctoral candidates participated in this event along with the distinguished professors, staff, students, and their wives. A total of five doctoral seminars were conducted during the cruise.

The seminar topics included the Mosaic Covenant and Pastoral Ministry (Dr. Daniel Yom, EdD), Comparative Religion and Religious Pluralism (Dr. Yongjoon Kim, PhD), A Critique of the New Apostolic Movement (Dr. Yongchul Kim, DMin), Doctrine of Justification: Reformers and the Council of Trent (Dr. Heekyu Choi, DMin), and New Calvinism and Continuationism (Dr. James A. Lee, DMin).

CalGrad has been blessed with many able scholars who received their training in such prestigious institutions as, the Free Church of Scotland College, Princeton Seminary, UCLA, Westminster Seminary, Trinity Theological Seminary, Reformed Seminary, and Temple University.

The doctoral students themselves were able to hone their theological and ministerial skills, having already been trained in such well-known schools as Seoul National University, Columbia University, Fuller Seminary, and Westminster Seminary.

To continue the vision to train and buildup the local churches and pastors, CalGrad is also offering summer continuing education seminars from June 15-26, 2015. The above mentioned professors will offer seminars on Biblical Theology and the Pastoral Ministry in the Post-Modern Church, Comparative Religion, Pastoral Leadership in the Immigrant Church, Historical Survey of Eschatology, and Conflict Resolution in the Church.
