The Seinfeld family just ran into trouble with the law, over a lemonade stand in East Hampton.
His 12-year-old son was running a lemonade stand with his friends for a charity at Egypt lane, when a neighbor complained about the illegal cars parked on the greens around the stand. The police ordered the stand to be shut down.
Jerry Seinfeld's wife Jessica posted a picture of the boys smiling with their hands up, with the caption that read:
"Lemonade dreams crushed by local neighbor, but not before raising lots of money for @loverecycled. Thanks to all of our customers and big tippers!"
The East Hampton Press reported that when a neighbor called police to report the illegally parked cars, the Seinfelds were told by the police that "the village prohibits all forms of peddling on its property."
However, to the ensuing drama over the lemonade stand, one of the users on Instagram responded, "It's really pathetic that people would call the cops over this. And it's even more pathetic that cops shut it down." Others had some light-hearted moments over the incidence on Instagram.
One user jokingly hinted that this whole effort might have been "thwarted by Newman again," who was Seinfeld's arch-enemy on popular decade-long comedy show.
Still another one said, "Some great material for a future Seinfeld show reunion, perhaps? :-) Although Larry David has used something similar in Curb Your Enthusiasm."
