Apple is preparing to launch the iOS 8.3 update which aims to fix a design problem faced by many iPhone 6 users.

The update, which will be released later this year, includes various changes to the smartphone's keyboard, Mac Rumors reported.

Many iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners complained about accidentally pressing the period key instead of the space bar when using the Safari app.

"The whole '.' Next to the space bar when you open Safari on your iPhone has to be the most annoying thing ever," iPhone 6 user Amanda tweeted. "My searches look.like.this."

As a solution, through iOS 8.3, Apple extended the space bar and shortened the period key as well as the "Go" button. Hopefully, the latest update will eliminate the frustrating issue experienced by many of Apple's latest smartphone model owners.

The iOS 8.3 is the Cupertino-based company's first update that went through public beta testing. Last week, Apple invited the participants who tested its OS X Yosemite through an email to take part in the beta testing of its latest update. Apple noted that the move is part of its iOS Beta program.

"For the first time ever we are broadening the program to include the all new iOS Beta," the company said in a statement according to PC Mag. "The feedback you have provided on the OS X Yosemite Beta continues to help us shape OS X and we would like to offer you an invite to the iOS 8.3 Beta."

According to Apple, the iOS 8.3 Beta can be downloaded from its Beta Software Program site, The Verge reported.

Aside from the improved keyboard design, iOS 8.3 also features wireless CarPlay connectivity and support systems for Google's two-step verification process as well as for Apply Pay through the China UnionPay network.

The latest update from Apple also comes with a redesigned emoji picker.
