Will Turner is back! Orlando Bloom will make a comeback in the next Pirates of Caribbean movie Dead Men Tell No Tales, said Disney at D23 Expo.
Orlando Bloom was the main lead of the first three of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, but was conspicuously absent in On Stranger Tides released in 2011.
After months of keeping his role besides Johnny Depp a suspense, Disney confirmed his comeback in the movie which finished filming last week in Australia, and is now in post-production stage. Last year, the 38-year-old actor had said he was not sure if he would star in the upcoming Pirates of Caribbean movie.
"I am not entirely sure that [I will be back] just yet, but there are talks. Basically they want to reboot the whole franchise, I think, and do something with me and the relationship with my son," he had told the IGN in 2014.
The film is expected to focus on Will's relationship with his son, even as the main plot is woven around Jack Sparrow who is on the move to find the artifact Trident of Poseidon, which will give him absolute control of the seas. But this won't come easy to him, who is relentlessly chased by the captain of bloody ghost pirates Salazar played by Javier Bardem.
Other actors starring in the much-awaited movie are Kaya Scodelario of British Skins', Stephen Graham of Kings of the New York, Geoffery Rush as Barboss, and Brendon Thwait, according to Hollywood Life.
Johnny Depp made an exclusive appearance at the D23 expo, in full costume of Jack Sparrow, fascinating the audience by his signature appeal of pulling gags, throwing grapes at people.
Orlando Bloom was missing from the animated expo crowded with fans.
