The NCIS episode scheduled to be aired on March 31, 2015, titled Patience, promises to veer away from the personal lives of the team and aims to focus more on the investigative and procedural aspects of the show, according to Cartermatt.com.

In the synopsis provided for Episode 19 of this season, the upcoming case of the NCIS team will tackle another investigation launched 40 years ago. Needless to say, this episode will be featuring a very cold case and linking it to the new one assigned to the group.

The current case will involve the murder of another petty officer. The investigation conducted on this crime then leads the team to find new and presumably relevant details which may be crucial in solving another case involving a bombing incident that occurred in the United States airport 40 years ago. To make matters more interesting, this case has been assigned to both Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Mark Harmon, and Anthony DiNozzo, portrayed by Michael Weatherly. The two have been working on finding leads on the said cold case for the past two years. Hence, this newly found evidence might help the team hit two birds with one stone.

Meanwhile, Timothy McGee, played by Sean Murray, will be the center of the subplot in this episode in terms of the personal aspect of the lives of the characters. Upon finding out that the old case have been assigned to both DiNozzo and Gibbs, the cybersecurity expert appears to be jealous of the situation. Apparently, the team's resident tech guru feels left out of the action as he was never informed or even briefed of the said assignment at any given point in the past two years.

It appears that the show might be endeavoring to provide more depth on the character of McGee as the episode prior to this one, titled Status Update, also presumably centers on his personal life. In Episode 18, McGee's current girlfriend, Delilah Fielding, will once again be seen by the fans of the show. It can be recalled that Fielding, played by Margo Harshman, left the country after landing her dream job in Dubai. However, her parting scene with McGee reassured fans of the couple that they will be living together as soon as her mission wraps up.
